Desist from posting pictures of infected persons

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 26, 2020 (ZIZ News): A call for persons to desist from sending pictures around on social media and other means of those persons who are affected by the COVID-19 virus.

It came from members of the Covid-19 Task Force who were the special guests on the special edition of the Thursday morning program “Policing with You” on ZIZ Radio. Dr. Pierre said it is very disturbing that persons in the society are doing things like this.

“When you circulate a photo of someone, you are also saying that this is someone with a particular disease.  This disease is no respector of person or status or creed or race. The impact study that was done has shown; and thats before this thing left the Asian continent, that 50% of our population will have coronavirus. Right now that is being revisited and its seeming that 60%-70% of the population will have coronavirus. So when you circulate a photo of someone as if this is the person who will get coronavirus, you are making a mistake, because it is just a matter of time before someone in your family or yourself suffer from coronavirus.”

He said this is especially hurtful as that individual is needed to come back out to work in the fight against the covid-19 virus.

Policing with You” is aired on Thursday mornings on ZIZ Radio.
