Basseterre, St. Kitts (SKNIS) — The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis has completed a significant upgrade to general postal services island-wide, with the opening of the Dieppe Bay Post Office on Thursday (October 09).
Officials boasted of new services such as the addition of U.S mailboxes and cheque cashing at the facility. Post Master General, Sandra Davoren said that Post is still relevant in spite of technological advancements that make communication easier and promised even more improvements to the postal service making processes like package delivery more convenient.
“The postal sector has quite a lot to offer as we seek to diversify the services we provide,” said Davoren. “This facility is a modern one with the capability to cater to the postal needs of the community it serves and those further afield.”
This facility, according to Minister of Posts, Hon. Glenn Phillip, marks the completion of upgrades to all post offices in St. Kitts and is an improvement to the convenience of postal services for the area.
“We believe that with the opening of this post office, post box facilities will now be available island-wide, “ said Phillip. “As our island economy and our social structures continue to evolve and as new St. Kitts and Nevis emerges, there is continues need for greater conveniences for our professionals who will live and work in this community.”
