Digicel Donates to the Salvation Army

(ZIZ News) — The local arm of the Salvation Army has received assistance to help spread cheer this Christmas season. The donation was made by telecommunications company, Digicel.

Digicel’s Chief Executive Officer Johnny Ingle, made the presentation. The donation comprised of several food hampers which will be distributed to deserving individuals and families.

“We have two tables of goodies…that are going to be distributed to the needy here in the communities of the Federation and we’re just very proud to be here. And what we’ll also be doing is making a donation of a thousand dollars ($1,000) to both Major Campbells of the Federation in support of their fantastic programme to support those in need this Christmas,” Ingle said.

Major Roxroy Campbell of the Salvation Army thanked Digicel for joining their effort to spread the spirit of giving this Christmas.

“The Salvation Army has been involved in this Ministry for 110 years in St. Kitts and today, we are so happy that so many persons, corporate society and local individuals, and now Digicel, are always coming on board to assist persons in need,” he explained.

Major Campbell noted that the Salvation Army will distribute more than 150 food hampers to needy persons and families around the island this season.
