Digicel Donates to “Whole Again”

(ZIZ News) — A non-profit organisation that provides artificial limbs to amputees has gotten a helping hand from telecommunications firm, Digicel.

During a brief presentation ceremony on Wednesday morning, Digicel donated $1000 to the Whole Again Foundation.

Marketing Officer, Tishanna Jeffers said the company was pleased to assist the foundation with the finances and a new phone.

“This phone will basically be used to make calls for the foundation and we’ll be giving a top up every month to the foundation so that they can make calls and text messages, which the phone can do, on a monthly basis,” she said.

The foundation’s President, Patrick Williams said they are happy for Digicel’s help and shared how his experience of losing a leg led to the foundation’s formation.

“Based on my experiences rehabilitating and trying to become an active and productive citizen once again, it just hit me like a bolt of lightning that perhaps should use my own experiences in a positive way to assist the plight of other amputees in St. Kitts. Thus, the idea was born. That was the catalyst for the Whole Again Foundation,” he said.

Williams said the group plans to unveil its programmes in the near future.
