Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 28, 2020 (ZIZ News): During Monday’s NEOC briefing at NEMA, General Manager of Digicel St. Kitts-Nevis, Dionne Emtage expressed that during this pandemic, the company’s main focus is to ensure the safety and well-being of customers as well as staff.

She also explained that quite a number of safety measures have been implemented at the company’s stores based on government’s regulations.

“The maximum customer capacity in our stores is limited to 3 persons and yes we know that there are lines but this is necessary to ensure that we enforce social distancing. We encourage our customers to adhere to all of our social distancing markers at each of our stores and then there too when they’re just out shopping generally. We are asking that you all adhere because this is the best way to stop the spread, being a safe distance apart”, she said.

The General Manager shared additional safety measures which includes providing face masks and hand sanitizers for all staff members.

“We have also installed protective barriers in our stores and in addition to that our stores are equipped with checkboxes and also installed additional checkboxes at RAMS and BestBuy here in both St. Kitts and Nevis. It is also mandatory that all of our stuff whether customer facing or not, as long as they are interacting with anyone else they are to be equipped with masks which we provide daily for them as well as hand sanitizers and gloves for those customers who are also handling cash. We encourage all businesses to do the same”, she noted.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and as the 2020 Atlantic Hurricane Season approaches, Digicel activated a Disaster Preparedness Committee in February while their Crisis Management Committee was activated in March.
