Some of the federation’s Ambassadors and Honorary Consuls paid a visit to students of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training programme on Monday morning, as part of Diplomatic Week 2019.

During the visit, St. Kitts and Nevis’ First Female Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba, Her Excellency Verna Mills shared her definition of a diplomat with the students and explained the duty that comes with the role.

She also encouraged the students to consider a career in diplomacy.

Ambassador of Argentina, His Excellency Gustavo Martinez Pandiani, used the opportunity to focus on two lessons about diplomatic strength and equality.

He said it is important to note that “diplomacy is a place where everyone is equal”. He referenced St. Kitts and Nevis as a small island developing state that is helping to influence a peaceful resolution in Venezuela under CARICOM’s leadership.

The Ambassador of Argentina also highlighted how crucial the leadership of Prime Minister, Dr. Hon Timothy Harris and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Mark Brantley has been.

Diplomatic Week 2019 is being observed under the theme, “Securing a Resilient Future through Effective Diplomacy and Strategic Dialogue”.
