Divine Worship to introduce the Celebration of ZIZ Radio 50th Anniversary

ZIZ News…Feb. 6, 2011 – The Board of Directors, Management and Staff of ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation will worship as a team this Sunday morning February 6, to mark the official start of activities for the 50th Anniversary celebrations of ZIZ Radio.

On March 5, 1961, ZIZ Radio came into existence and was the first radio station to be established in St. Kitts Nevis and one of a few to be opened in the entire Caribbean.

The service will be held at the St. Georges Anglican Church at eight o’clock and will be attended by the staff of ZIZ along with a number of dignitaries including the Governor General His Excellency Dr. Sir Cuthbert Sebastian, Information Minister the Hon. Nigel Carty, other cabinet members and Commissioner of Police Mr. Austin Williams.

The service to be conducted by Archdeacon Valentine Hodge and Father Christopher Archibald will be held under the Theme ‘Proudly Uniting, Leading, Serving and entertaining for Fifty years’.

Members of staff of ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation are also expected to actively take part in the service.

Highlights of the fiftieth anniversary celebrations include a Banquet and Awards ceremony, Fun Day, Calypso Competition and a Song Competition.

The Divine Worship to introduce the Celebration of ZIZ Radio 50th Anniversary will be carried live on ZIZ Radio.
