Draw for the second (2nd) round of FA Cup completed

ZIZ Sports…April 15, 2010 – The St. Kitts-Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) completed the draw for the second (2nd) round of its FA Cup on Tuesday night (13th April), live on national TV, ZIZ Channel 5.

This was done on the very popular Tuesday night Sports programme “Action Sports” by Mr Stanley Jacobs, General Secretary of the SKNFA. He was ably assisted by the members of the St. Kitts-Nevis Under Fifteen (U 15) football team, who are fresh from their Championship performance in the Barbados Cup on the Easter Weekend in Barbados, where they won that competition.

The young footballers who are extremely excited about going overseas to represent the Federation and also being crowned champions, were overwhelmed by the opportunity to assist the FA in such an important event.

The 2nd round which will determine the quarter-finalists, commences on Tuesday 20th April, and sees:

Game 1 : The National U 16 team vs Coury’s Snapple Conaree FC

Game 2 : Molineaux FC vs St Peters FC

Game 3 : Rams Village Superstars vs KFC Trinity/Challengers Strikers FC

Game 4 : The National U 18 team vs Washington Archibald High School FC

Game 5 : Davis’ Construction Lodge Patriot FC vs Mantab FC

Game 6 : S.L Horsfords St. Pauls FC vs UDC Garden Hot Spurs FC

Game 7 : Parson Ground FC vs Rivers of Living Waters FC and

Game 8 : Trafalgar South Stars vs TDC Newtown United FC

After a very exciting first (1st) round of matches, these sixteen teams will now be battling it out to get into the Semi-Finals, and the excitement, thrill of victory defeat and agony of defeat will be running high.

The seeded teams that gained byes into this round are:

S.L Horsfords St. Pauls United Strikers

Washington Archibald High School FC

TDC Newtown United FC and

UDC Garden Hot Spurs FC.

The general public is therefore urged to come on out and support their community, support their team, support the competition, support football.
