Eastern Caribbean magistrates meet in St. Kitts for three-day conference

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, APRIL 24TH 2012 (CUOPM) – Magistrates from across the Eastern Caribbean meet in St. Kitts on Wednesday for the 2012Conference.

St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas has been invited to deliver the welcome remarks by Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, His Lordship Sir Hugh Rawlins.

The three-day conference is hosted by the Judicial Education Institute of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in collaboration with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

The April 25th to 27th conference is being held at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and Royal Beach Casino and magistrates are expected from Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
