Electricity resumes after early morning fire

ZIZ News…March 19, 2013 — After an early morning fire at a sub-station in Challengers residents from Trinity to Sandy Point has had their electricity supply return at about 12:30 pm.

At approximately 1:30 am Tuesday March 19, a fire in one of the company’s sub-station in Challengers led to outages to residents on the western side of the island.

SKELEC emergency and maintenance crew began working on the damaged equipment and was able to restore electricity around midday today (Tuesday 19th).

SKELEC apologises to all residents for the interruption in their electricity supply and would like to thank them for their understanding during this unexpected disruption in the supply of their service.
