Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 30, 2019 (ZIZ News): English professional footballer, Marcus Rashford who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team recently made a large donation of items to the St. Christopher Children’s Home earlier this month.

In a recent post to his 7.7 million followers on Instagram, Rashford shared a post to his fans about the success of his “In-The-Box” initiative which is a campaign the athlete launched to help those in need especially during the festive season.

The campaign initially focused on the homeless and less fortunate in Manchester, however Rashford wanted to extend the kind-hearted gesture to the less fortunate children in St. Kitts.

In his online post, the 22 year old footballer wrote, “Very proud of what we achieved with #intheboxmanchester this year but also didn’t want to forget my roots at Christmas so really happy our family was able to ship donations to St Christopher’s Children’s Home in Saint Kitts and to see them arrive before the 25th.”

He continued, “My Nana Cillian Henry lived in Haynes Smith village before she passed away and it means a lot to be able to do this in her memory. Hope everyone on the island has a great new year!”

Acting Administrator at the St. Christopher Children’s Home, Shannizua James said the Home was more than grateful for the donation.

James said that the Home was not expecting the donation and expressed how happy the children were to receive the gifts in time for Christmas.
