Escaped Prisoner Caught in Dieppe Bay

ZIZ NEWSROOM, Basseterre, March 3, 2012 — The Delta Squad Unit of the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force apprehended escaped prisoner, Jermaine “Bobo” Browne of The Alley, Sandy Point.

According to reports, Browne was captured at 4PM in Dieppe Bay as he was trying to steal a fishing boat to leave the island to go to St Maarten.

Browne had escaped police custody by jumping out of a police vehicle in the Challengers area on Friday night while he was being transported from Sandy Point to the Basseterre Police Station.

The 25-year-old was earlier arrested for burglary.

The Commissioner of Police, Celvin Walwyn is currently reviewing the care and custody procedures of prisoners so as to ensure that prisoners in custody are better managed.
