Events to mark the 19th anniversary of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Government

Basseterre, St. Kitts (CUOPM) — A Thanksgiving Service this Sunday, a Town Hall meeting, a national broadcast and the soft opening of Kittitian Hill are among several events planned to celebrate the 19th anniversary of the ruling St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party assumption to office.

Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Party, Ms. Sharylle Richardson said the service on Sunday 6th July will take place at the New Birth Tabernacle, Cabbage Tree Development, Cayon, pastored by Rev. Cyprian Williams.

Prime Minister the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas is expected to lead members of the Cabinet, the Executive and Officers of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party  and supporters to the service which begins at 9 a.m.

On Wednesday 9th July, the St. George’s Anglican Church Hall, the former Basseterre Girls School, is the venue for a town-hall style meeting entitled: “Conversations for Progress.”

Major topics for discussion are The Citizenship by Investment Programme and Immigration.

The soft opening of the multi-million dollar Kittitian Hill resort is planned for Thursday 10th July at 4 p.m.

During the week, Prime Minister Douglas will make a national broadcast in which he is expected to highlight several achievements of his four-term St. Kitts-Nevis Labour administration over the past 19 years.

It was on July 3rd 1995, that the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party under the leadership of Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas won 7 of the 8 seats on St. Kitts in the 11-member St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly.
