F.I.M. Launch of Theme, Song and Music Video

(ZIZ News) – Thursday saw the regional launch of the official theme, original song and music video for Financial Information Month [F.I.M.] 2015.

During a video conference-styled event, several national banking institutions from the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union came together to witness the launch from the ECCB Headquarters in Bassettere.

The theme for F.I.M. is the acronym, “LEAD” which stands for Learn, Empower, Achieve and Develop.

The 2015 official F.I.M. song and music video was produced by Bomani Charles of St. Vincent and the Grenadines while the children from C.W. Prescod Primary in Grenada performed the theme song, using the steel pan.

Shirna Pemberton, Marketing Manager of the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank said the program incorporates initiatives geared to support and foster strong sustainable economic growth and improved well-being.

She said, “Financial literacy helps people to understand what is needed to achieve a lifestyle that is financially balanced, sustainable, ethical and responsible. It also helps entrepreneurs to leverage other people’s money for business to generate sales and profit.”

Meanwhile, Adviser to the Corporate Relations Department of ECCB, Sybil Welsh described F.I.M. as a regional financial, economic, business and entrepreneurial education campaign.

“Since we launched in 2002, we’ve been expanded in several initiatives: course, workshops, day-workshops, TV and radio programs and other initiatives,” Welsh noted.

Anguilla, Antigua, Dominica, St. Lucia, Montserrat, Grenada, Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and host St. Kitts participated in the launch.

F.I.M. 2015 will be officially launched in October.
