Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 2, 2020 (ZIZ News): Director of Agriculture, Melvin James is reminding livestock farmers to present proper identification to police when approached during the current State of Emergency.

In a recent briefing held by the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) at NEMA, the Director said the High Command will only permit livestock farmers access to their animals based on specific requirements.

James said as the lockdown continues, crop farmers are expected to remain indoors except specific instructions are given otherwise.
He said that the emergency lockdown is a sacrifice for health and safety that we all have to make and assured that rebuilding can always take place when the lockdown ends.

Mr. James then used the opportunity to implore all farmers to be compliant with the new regulations.
The NEOC provides daily updates at 3:30pm live on ZIZ radio (96.1FM) as well as participating radio stations.
