Fast Twitch Track Club at the Carifta Trials

Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 6, 2023 (Fast Twitch Track Club) — The Fast Twitch Tack Club athletes performed exceptionally well at the SKN Athletics Carifta Trials held on Saturday 4th March at the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium. Two athletes from the club had previously attained qualifying marks namely, Tijuanique Morton 200m  and De’Cheynelle Thomas in  400m-55.87. The Fast Twitch Track Club was the only club that had athletes who had qualifying performances at the Carifta Trials in the persons of Akanye Samuel in the 400m hurdles in a personal best time of 55.55 and De’Cheynelle Thomas in the 200m where she clocked a personal best time of 24.73. 

The following athletes listed below have either hit a qualifying mark, ran a personal best or placed first in their respective events. Congratulations to all the Fast Twitch athletes and coaches. Head coach Timothy Morton said he was pleased with the performances and noted that there is always room for improvement.

De’Cheynelle Thomas: 200m-24.73 1st place, personal best and qualifying time.

 She has already qualified in the 400m- 55.87

Akanye Samuel: 400m hurdles 55.55 1ST Place, personal best and qualifying performance 

100m-11.35 personal best

William Sharpe: 200m-21.86- first place

Ashaun Wilkenson:  400m hurdles- 55.64 1st place and personal best 

Daron Thomas:  400m-50.48 1st place and personal best

Kayella Rawlins: 100m-12.58 1st place and personal best 200m-25.23

Kyema Rawlins: 100m-12.36 personal best & 200m-25.72 

Uniqua Pond: 200m 26.82 personal best

Gianna Phipps:  800m- 2:24.34 personal best

Aldrett Nisbett: 100m-10.97 personal best and 1st place
