Female Shot while in her Car at Bird Rock

(ZIZ News) — Police are investigating a shooting in Bird Rock that occurred on Thursday morning and has left a woman hospitalized.

According to police, members of the Violent Crimes Unit, Crime Scene Unit and K-9 Unit responded to a shooting report in Bird Rock at around 8:10am on Thursday.

Initial investigations revealed that Carla Hendrickson-Martin of Bird Rock was shot in her motor car in front of her residence by unknown assailants.

Hendrickson-Martin suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Following the shooting, she was transported to the Joseph N. France Hospital for treatment. The Crime Scene Unit processed the scene and collected pieces of evidence.
