Firearms, drugs and 100 rounds of ammunition seized in police operations on Saturday

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, OCTOBER 24TH 2011 (CUOPM) – Police seized two firearms, over one hundred rounds of ammunition and a quantity of marijuana in three separate operations on Saturday night.

Acting on information, the SSU searched an abandoned building on Johnston Street, Baker’s Corner and found one 9mm pistol with one magazine containing six rounds of ammunition.

The SSU in executing a search warrant on a residence in Greenlands found a small amount of marijuana in that home.

One .380 pistol with a magazine containing eleven .380 rounds of ammunition were fund in an overgrown lot opposite the house in Greenlands.

Police also seized thirty-five .38 rounds and one .45 rounds of ammunition on that same lot, making it a total of 47 rounds of ammunition.

The Delta Squad in a separate operation executed a search warrant on a home in St. Johnston Village seized 76 rounds of assorted ammunition.

The two firearms and 129 rounds of ammunition are in the custody along with one person arrested arrested in the St. Johnston Village home.

Additional charges could be brought, law enforcement officials said.
