First cruise ship for 2011/2012 season brings 2,245 passengers

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, OCTOBER 4TH 2011 (CUOPM) – The 2011/2012 Cruise Ship Season began here Tuesday with the arrival of the Serenade of the Seas.
With 2,245 cruise passengers and 871 crew onboard, the 90,000 ton 2,450-passenger capacity cruise liner of the Radiance Class cruise ship berth at Port Zante.
The Serenade of the Seas will make two calls this month and a total of 16 calls for the season with an estimated 40,640 passengers.
The 3.050-passenger capacity Carnival Victory arrives on Friday 7th October.
Over 650,000 cruise passengers are expected for the 2011/2012 Season.
Several cruise ships will be visiting St. Kitts for the first time and include those making a one-time call or on a schedule for the first time.
The Allure of the Seas, Carnival Valor, Celebrity Silhouette, Jewel of the Seas, Mein Schiff 2, the Saga Ruby, Saga Pearl 2, Seabourn Quest, Navigator of the Seas, Queen Elizabeth and Thomson Dream will grace the St. Kitts Port.
