BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, February 14, 2023 (ZIZ) As the First Federal Cooperative Credit Union celebrates the one year anniversary of its Personal Banking Center in downtown Basseterre, the financial institution used the opportunity to give back to the community with a donation to the Cardin Home.
Human Resource and Corporate Affairs Manager Nikita Evelyn said the Credit Union is pleased that it has grown enough to be able to give back to older persons in this way.
“To commemorate the first anniversary of opening our personal banking center at Central Street, we are here today at the Cardin Home on Valentine’s Day to share some love. It’s a very heartwarming feeling that we are able to give back to our community, especially our elder community and we are pleased with the growth of the Credit Union…. Everyone knew us as FND. So we are pleased where we have come, and we are also pleased that we are able to grow so much that we can give back to our community, and especially to the elder community, who, of course, would have contributed to the growth of the Credit Union” Evelyn said.
On Tuesday First Federal Cooperative Credit Union handed over 90 towels and wash cloths to the residents of the Cardin Home.
Supervisor at the Cardin Home Patricia Heyliger thanked First Federal for the donation.
“On behalf of the residents and staff of the Cardin Home, I would like to thank First Federal Credit Union Limited for their kind donation of bath towels and wash rags to this institution,” she said. “We are grateful that they remember us in their thoughts and I’m certain that the residents welcome this donation. So thanks again and happy first anniversary.”
Meanwhile at the First Federal Cooperative Credit Union Personal banking Center on Central Street, Member Experience Associate Sarafina Osbourne spoke with ZIZ about the day’s celebrations.
She thanked customers for their continued support, “On this very day in 2022, First Federal opened its doors at our personal banking center right downtown to serve you, our members. We’ve been serving you from the heart of town. You get it? The heart of town for exactly one year… it’s been an amazing year. So we want to thank you for your passionate throughout the year, and we look forward to serving you for many more, many more years to come, offering you lots of services, lots of loans, lots of savings products to create a better financial situation for all of our members.”
“We had a celebration today. You can see our balloon, but we had cakes, we had treats. It was just a little something that we can do to give back, in addition to all the good interest rates on your savings to give back to you, our members. So thank you.”
Initially known as FND, the financial institution transitioned to a Credit Union in 2009.
