An official request has been made for an investigation into the United National Congress (UNC) December 5 internal leadership elections in Trinidad and Tobago, the Trinidad Express reported.
Attorney Michael Rooplal has written to the UNC’s Election Management Committee headed by Dr. Rampersad Parasram on behalf of his client, unsuccessful party leadership contender Dr Roodal Moonilal, requesting the investigation.
There was a three-way race for the UNC internal election, which saw incumbent leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar and her Team UNC slate winning by a landslide.
