Four Bills to be debated at National Assembly on Friday

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, SEPTEMBER 20TH 2012 (CUOPM) – Four bills will be debated when the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly meets on Friday 21st September 2012.

According to the Order Paper, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Sustainable Development, Human Resource Development, Police and Defence Force, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas will introduce and pilot through all three stages The St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Limited (Vesting of Certain Lands) Bill 2012.

Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, the Hon. Patrice Nisbett will lead the debate on The Proceeds of Crime (Amendment) Bill 2012 and The Justice Protection Bill 2012.

He will introduce the amendment to the Proceeds of Crime Act and pilot it through all three stages.

The Justice Protection Bill, 2012 was introduced had its first reading on at the 29th March sitting.

Minister responsible for International Trade, Industry, Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Agriculture, Marine Resource and Cooperatives and Constituency Empowerment, Dr. The Hon. Timothy Harris will introduce and have read a First Time and piloted through all stages, The Metrology Bill, 2012.
