Government to Address Concerns at the Community Level

(ZIZ News) – The government has outlined steps taken to address community concerns in Constituency #6.

Several government ministers gathered at a community meeting in Saddler’s on Thursday night to speak about what they had done so far and listen to concerns raised by residents.

Special Advisor in the Ministry of Youth, Vernon Connor said they have launched several small committees that are responsible for hearing and addressing problems that may arise in each village in Constituency 6.

He said, “These village committees will be chaired by each village and that person will have a team of persons surrounding him or her from that village. And they will meet at their regular time to look at what is happening in that village.”

He said this is part of the government’s efforts to ensure that the needs of Constituency number 6 are met.

“We want to ensure that over these five years, that Number 6 is not left behind. Because after these five years, I do not want to hear anyone from this area saying that over here has been neglected.”

Prime Minister, the Hon. Dr. Timothy Harris echoed Mr. Connor’s sentiments, stating that the government will continue to keep the best interests of Constituency Number 6 at heart.

“Number Six is off to a new start and a fresh start. And I will promise that you have nothing to lose from a Team Unity Government because we will take better care of you,” the Prime Minister stated.

Other government officials present included Parliamentary Representative for Constituency #1, the Hon. Ian “Patches” Liburd; Parliamentary Representative for Constituency #8, the Hon. Eugene Hamilton; and Special Envoy in the Office of the Prime Minister Michael Powell.
