Gov’t Thinking Of Reducing Curfew Hours

Prime Minister Dr the Hon Timothy Harris addressing worshippers at the Temple in Dieppe Bay on Sunday August 2.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July August 3, 2020 (ZIZ News): Prime Minister Harris has announced the government may be reducing the night curfew by next weekend.

Prime Minister Harris made the announcement when he addressed worshippers at the Temple in Dieppe Bay where he had led leadership and membership of the Peoples Labour Party on Sunday

He said “We are contemplating for next weekend we shall go down to 2:00 am. At least you will have a bit more time because we know how time can fly, and some people really enjoy late dinners and so we want you to go out, enjoy yourself but at the same time minimise the risks by wearing your masks, sanitise your hands and do all those things because you see now that the response to Covid-19 is really common sense.”

Right now the State of Emergency Regulations dictate that curfew hours run from midnight to 4:59 am as part of efforts to restrict the spread of Covid-19

Prime Minister Harris reminded everyone not to take the pandemic for granted, as it is still there.

He said “Protect yourselves, Put on the mask, for as long as you can. I know it can be difficult. You take it off a little bit. But for as long as you can, you endure it. You are only really required to do it when you go out in public. At home you are okay, and that is to protect you and to protect others around you by the wearing of the mask and the insistence on sanitisation.”
