Grand Finals set for today

CricketFilePhotoGSports Page — The grand finals in the 2014 edition of the TDC sponsored Primary School Cricket league, is set for later today at 2pm.

The two teams in the finals are the Charlestown Primary School and the combined Maude Cross Preparatory School and the Nevis Academy team which in its first year in the competition swept aside all opposition to make it to the finals.

The Charlestown Primary team was the only other undefeated team to make it to the finals.

As part of the combined team, the Nevis Academy representatives have made a significant contribution to the team’s success and Headmistress Wilkinson, her staff and the students there are indeed proud of their achievements.

The three players from the school are: Recardo Brookes; Trevon Dean and Donald Persaud. Unfortunately, none of these players may be able to be a part of the grand finals today, as the school is having its graduation ceremony and the Headmistress was quick to point out that the school was not a part of the discussions when the arrangements were being made to select the day for the finals.

However, once the action bowls off at the ET Willet Park later today, the battle lines will be well and truly drawn, as both teams have played some exciting Cricket thus far and today promises to be an exciting one.
