Grand Parade of Troupes 2011-2012

ZIZ News…Dec 3, 2012 – Revelers took to the streets on Monday in a sea of colour for the grand carnival parade.

Much like j’ouvert morning persons wore costumes, either individually or as part of a group or troupe.

Folklore groups came out in their numbers showcasing the traditional cultural aspect of carnival.

The three registered troupes this year are Phunn and Mas: Carnival Gems of Class’ presented by Phunnmakers; ‘Somewhere in Taiwan’ presented by the Banker Mas Camp, and Fusion Fantasy presented by Plush.

The bands and calypsonians vying for the Road March title also sang their tunes for the judges along the parade route.

Meanwhile the mas lovers and revelers will be hitting the sreets once again today as they enjoy Last Lap for carnival 40:40.
