Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 6, 2020 (ZIZ News): Officials from the Department of Environment held a Green House Gas Inventory Project Inception Workshop at the Ocean Terrace Inn on Friday morning.
The project is in fulfilment of the St. Kitts and Nevis Third National Communication (TNC) and First Biennial Update Report (BUR1) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC).
Director of the Department of Environment, June Hughes described the workshop as vitally important to the Federation noting that we impact and are impacted by our environment.
She said that St. Kitts and Nevis was given the responsibility to identify, report and compile the findings of the current state of the Federation as it relates to climate change.
A brief overview of the project was given which consists of reflections from previous inventories and recommendations for the way forward.
