Greene Prepared for Belize Challenge

StarretGreeneF(ZIZ)– Outgoing Organization of American States (OAS) Ambassador to St. Kitts and Nevis, Starret Greene says he will be using the experience and knowledge gathered over the last eight and a half years in St. Kitts and Nevis to succeed at his new assignment.

Greene’s tenure as OAS Ambassador to St. Kitts and Nevis officially ends on June 30th. He then begins his new assignment as OAS Representative to Belize on July 1st.

In an interview with ZIZ, Greene says his work here has prepared him for the challenge ahead.

“It’s a bigger country than St.Kitts,” he said. “There are more people to know than in St.Kitts. But it will be a challenge I believe. New experiences, the issues are different, the challenges are bigger and that means I’ll have to work harder and longer but I’m going with the experience I gained. I’m going, too, with the goodwill and I think I will be able to bring to bear the experience I was able to develop and the knowledge that I gained as well”.

He also thanked the people of St. Kitts and Nevis for their support over the last eight years.

“Here’s an opportunity for me to use this occasion of our discussion to express my profuse appreciation, indeed my profuse thanks to the people of St.Kitts and Nevis. One, for embracing the programs and projects that the organization delivers and two, for supporting me personally. Standing with me and offering the kind of encouragement and when necessary input and support. This has been quite a journey,” he said.
