Haiti Flag Day Event

Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 18, 2019 (ZIZ News):It was an evening of music, dance, and other art forms reflecting the culture of Haiti as the Haitian Association of St. Kitts hosted their 2019 Haiti Flag Day event at Manhattan Gardens.

According to Association President Christel Joseph the event had two purposes: to raise awareness about the association and to inform the public about a scholarship programme they are launching.

Association member, Ralph Felix, gave a historic overview of Haiti’s flag and explained the importance of celebrating it with an annual Flag Day event.

According to the Association President it is hoped that through events such as the Flag Day cocktail the group will be able to foster cultural integration between St. Kitts and Nevis and Haiti.
