Haitian nationals detained in Florida

Palm Beach, (CMC) — Over 30 Haitians, were travelling early Monday off the coast of Palm Beach, Florida when law enforcement officials spotted a boat floating two miles offshore.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reports that the group of 13 men, nine women and 10 children were seen in a yellow fishing vessel that was stolen in the Bahamas.

Frank Miller, a spokesman for US Customs and Border Patrol said it is not known if the group was being transported by smugglers.

There were no reports of injuries.
