(ZIZ Newsroom) — In observance of Caribbean Wellness Month, a public lecture on Wellness and Pain Management will be held on Thursday.

Dr. Sybil Allen Jones is a corporate well being consultant who will present on the topic “Your Well Being Matters: Creating a Pandemic of Wellness Behaviour in Our Daily Lives”.

She said with the prevalent health issues in the world today, it is important to be aware and live a healthy lifestyle.

“We are looking to have people have a pandemic of health and wellness rather than illness. I think that we need to have a variety of partners and stakeholders in this crisis because we are actually facing a crisis in the region—not just the region but globally—where obesity, hypertension, diabetes and so the number of people who can come on board with different perspectives on the issue then we are better able to see how we can create that well being that we are looking for,” she said.

Also presenting at the lecture will be Dr. Lisa Skerritt who has studied traditional Chinese medicine and specialises in the treatment of pain.

She will present on “Management, Treatment and Elimination – Taking The Mystery Out Of Pain”.

She said, “Pain is one of the worst managed problems of all of the different ailments that humans experience. I want people to know that most pain is very treatable and it is treatable with a few treatments.”

The Health and Wellness lecture will take place at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank at 7 pm on Thursday.

It is sponsored by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank and its staff association, as well as Pharmcarre and Rams Group of Companies.
