Basseterre, St. Kitts — Due to a accident by a heavy duty equipment cutting into one of our underground cables, in the vicinity of the Gulf Course, along with the rainfall in the area after the incident, some 20 customers in and around the area loss electricity supply.
Our workers were able to restore power to approximately 15 customers.
SKELEC would like to apologise to all our residents that were affected and especially those that are still without electricity. Our technicians are still waiting for the moisture in the cable to dry out before completing the restoration process.
SKELEC also would like to remind persons that will be conducting digging and or construction in areas around the island to please be aware of the Underground Cable signs and call the Company at 465-2000 to alert them if they are unaware of where the cables are located.
