House Allocation Ceremony

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 6, 2020 (ZIZ News):As the National Housing Corporation celebrated its 24th anniversary this past week a house allocation ceremony was held on Friday to officially hand over 2 new homes

The ceremony was held at Hermitage outside one of the two homes. The second is in Spooners.

The new homes are part of a new thrust to provide upgraded and affordable homes to residents.

Chairman of the NHC’s Board of Directors, Valentine Lindsay noted that the new 3-bedroom pre-fab homes are eco-friendly and are made up of components that are hurricane resistant.

Acting General Manager of NHC, Lisford Isaac urged the new homeowners to pay their mortgage on time to avoid unnecessary expense.

Minister of Human Settlement, the Hon. Eugene Hamilton highlighted the growth of the NHC over the years noting that the perception of the quality of homes provided has been changed as well.

At the end of the ceremony the keys to the new homes were presented to Patricia Jeffers and Irona Huggins.

A third home in Stapleton will be handed over at a later date.
