Students across the island were seen wearing various shades of pink as part of Wear Pink Day on Friday.

The pink themed outfits form part of this month’s breast cancer awareness activities that highlight the campaign’s efforts to raise the level of awareness, while supporting the fighters, admiring the survivors, and honouring those who lost their lives to the disease.

Principal of the Beach Allen primary school, Virgil Jeffers said the school wore their pink to stand in solidarity with all those affected by the disease.

Teacher at the Washington Archibald High School, Delvin Lucas said the school is always willing to assist cancer survivors and used their Pink Muft-Day to raise funds.

Some students wore pink socks and ribbons as symbols of support for women and women with breast cancer.

Teachers were also seen wearing their pink and or white clothing as they too recognized breast cancer awareness month.

The Solidarity in pink was also seen earlier in the week as students from the Victoria Road Preschool celebrated their Wear Pink Day on Wednesday.
