Hundreds Participate in 9th Annual 2K Walk and 5K Run

The St. Christopher Children’s Home hosted its 9th annual 2k walk and 5k run on Saturday October 6 at the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club.

Members of the board of the St. Christopher Children’s Home, representatives from the private and public sector, members of the general public, families and friends were all seen wearing their Bright orange t-shirts as they participated in the annual 2k walk and 5k run.

Prime minister of St. Kitts and Nevis Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris was also seen participating in the event.

Member of the board for the St. Christopher Children’s Home Naeemah Hazelle thanked all the participants for coming out and showing their support for the children.

She also announced that the children’s home was able to raise 180 thousand dollars from activities organized throughout the year including the annual walk and run.

At the end of the family event, participants were given the opportunity to win prizes from raffles including gift certificates from the chop shop spa and treatment, zip lining tickets at sky safari and tours on the St. Kitts Scenic Railway.

Face paintings were given to the children while musical entertainment was provided by Evolution Sounds HD.

The annual affair is part of the St. Christopher Children’s Home and Service league’s agenda to promote and foster healthy lifestyles and helps to raise much needed funds to sustain ongoing programmes for residents of the home.
