ICCS takes Talented Teen Pageant; WAHS dominates Junior Calypso

(ZIZ)Robertine Webbe of Immaculate Conception Catholic School is the new National Talented Teen. On Saturday night, Webbe amassed a total of 404 points to take the crown, winning best interview and the chairman’s award along the way.

Verchilds High School’s Valencia Kelly was adjudged first runner up. Kelly won four of six segments including ambassadorial wear, talent and formal wear. Kelly amassed a total of 399 points.

Three points away was Ms Basseterre High School, Khalifa Pencheon. Pencheon won best ambassadorial speech securing the second runner up position with 396 points. Basseterre High School won a cash prize of 5000 dollars for the newly introduced school spirit award.

Miss Saddlers Secondary School, Latidra Woodley is Miss Amity and Miss Washington Archibald High School, Elizabeth Salas is Miss Photogenic.

Meanwhile, Lil Taj’ and Singing Shaddie of the Washington Archibald High School won the Junior Calypso Monarch and first runner up respectively.

Taj’s ‘Time to Pray’ scored 247 points and Shaddie’s ‘Come Back to the Home’ scored 208 points.

King Leo took second runner up with 194 points and Mighty Copper took third runner up with 192 points.

The action continues tomorrow night with International Night featuring Grammy award winner Mya and Reggae and Dancehall icons Tarrus Riley and Aidonia.
