ICCS takes Talented Teen title
ZIZ News…Dec 23, 2012 — The Immaculate Conception Catholic School has taken the 2012 Talented Teen title with a clean sweep of all of the segments. Meanwhile, a stand out performance brought Basseterre High the win in the Junior Calypso Competition.
Pernelle Abraham dominated the Talented Teen competition on Saturday night as she won Best Ambassadorial Wear, Best Ambassadorial Speech, Best Performing Talent, Best Formal Teenage Wear, and Best Interview. She amassed a total of 683 points beating out her closest competitor by over 100 points. Miss Abraham also took home the Chairperson’s Award for exemplary behaviour throughout the competition.
First runner up position went to Shaneequa Rogers of Verchilds High School with 580.5 points. She also won Miss Amity.
Second runner up went to Xarriah Browne of Washington Archibald High School with 497 points. Miss Browne also took home the award for Miss Photogenic and the Social Media Award.
Meanwhile, Basseterre High took home the Junior Calypso Monarch crown with a spirited performance by De Conqueror Christian Nathaniel singing “Break De Silence”. He scored 260 points.
First runner up went to Singing Solution amassing 220 points with her song “Memories of the Dead”
Mighty Sanny took second runner up, scoring 212 points with “Let Justice Reign”.
And the third runner up spot went to Singing Sade who scored 210 points with “Know Better, Do Better”.
The coronations were performed by Minister of Culture, the Hon Marcella Liburd.
