Immaculate Conception Catholic School’s Raffle Fundraiser a Big Success!

Curt and Amelia Muhlenbruch & CSB Dr. Gonsalves

ZIZ News…Oct 3, 2012 — Immaculate Conception Catholic School (ICCS) would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire St. Kitts & Nevis community for their help in our recent raffle fundraiser. The raffle was well supported by the school and local communities. Almost $25,000 was grossed in this fundraising event. Nearly 2500 chances were purchased in our raffle, which is a testament to the hard work of many towards the goal of raising funds to help offset the cost of tuition. The goal of ICCS is to provide a well-rounded, yet affordable education to the children of St. Kitts & Nevis (yes, several children commute from Nevis to St. Kitts daily to attend ICCS)!

ICCS would like to sincerely thank all of our sponsors for their generous donations to the raffle. There were five exciting prizes that were raffled off:

Grand Prize

Seven-Night Cruise for Two – sponsored by Kantours

The other prizes were:

Two nights at Oualie Beach Resort on Nevis
Dinner for two at Serendipity Restaurant
Calvin Klein Watch from Diamonds International
A FREE terms tuition at Immaculate Conception Catholic School
Blackberry from Digicel (for top selling student)

The winners of the Grand Prize were Curt and Amelia Muhlenbruch of Nevis. Curt while not originally from the Federation is married to a Nevisian. It is fitting that he was a “Catholic School Boy” having graduated from St. Mary’s Primary School and Our lady of Lourdes High School, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He and Amelia are celebrating their ten-year wedding anniversary and were hoping to celebrate by taking a cruise. Now that they’ve won a seven-night cruise there is nothing to stand in their way! They’ve selected to sail the Western Caribbean on the Carnival Glory. They will leave from Miami and sail to Cozumel, Rotan, Belieze and Grand Cayman. They are going to celebrate their 10th anniversary in style!

There were also prizes for the top selling student and class. The top selling student was Christian Kelsick in Grade 9. He edged out his younger brother Dominic slightly to capture the win and was presented with a touchscreen Curve from Digicel.

The top selling class went to Ms. Billinghurst’s Grade 4 class. They had over 75% participation from their class. Their reward was a class pizza and ice cream party!

Again, ICCS would like to acknowledge all of our sponsors: Kantours, Serendipity, Dimaonds International, Oualie Beach Resort & Digicel!
