Imperial Bay Beach and Golf Residences at Half Moon Bay to spur employment

St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas addressing invited guests at the launching of the 86-condo units

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, DECEMBER 7TH 2012 (CUOPM) – A new development which will provide job opportunities in the construction industry in St. Kitts and Nevis early next year was launched Monday night in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas invited to speak at the launching of the Imperial Bay Beach and Golf Residences at Half Moon Bay, St. Kitts said the project has the full support of his government.

“The original plans were brought before my government, the respective agencies of the government looked at them, the government made the necessary representation to the developers and now the government is pleased to announce that this project, The Imperial Bay Beach Golf and Residences is off to a good start,” Dr. Douglas told some 80 business executives gathered for dinner at the Emirates Palace Hotel.

Prime Minister Douglas added that the US$10 million project involves 86 one-bedroom condominium units situated in one of the most pristine areas of St. Kitts and Nevis.

“It is situated on the beach in close proximity of the Royal St. Kitts Golf Course and will be close as well to another high-end development called Koi Resorts,” disclosed Prime Minister Douglas.

He said it was significant because it was a project where the developers have come to the country and are not going to the commercial banks to borrow money.

“It is a development that brings money into the country, because we understand and we have good proof in knowing that the project is already fully financed and does not depend upon the investment of others who will be buying the condo units, to advance the construction of this project,” said Prime Minister Douglas.

He said the government is depending upon the investment of this kind, to advance the development of the country.

“It is not just an investment for you the investor to make money. It is also an opportunity for your investment to impact in a very positive way, the lives of a people who historically have gone through many, many challenges of the past and who are now facing the realities of this ever changing world, and making a bold statement that we are ready to do business with the rest of the world, even during this turbulent period,” said Prime Minister Douglas.

Details of the project were presented by one of the developers, Mr. Faron T. Lawrence, General Manager of SKN Homes.
