In the Spirit of Christmas Concert 2019

The Circus in downtown Basseterre will come alive in December when the St. Kitts Department of Culture hosts their annual “In the Spirit of Christmas” concerts from Monday, 2nd to Thursday 5th December.

The concerts will be guided by the theme “Sharing Love”.

In an interview with ZIZ news, Secretary for the Department of Culture, Julia Broadbelt shared why the department continues to host these events.

“Some people are not into carnival and seeing that we’re having this concert it sort of bring in the feeling of Christmas to people, so that they’ll know well we don’t have to be in the carnival but we could be in the spirit of Christmas where we have like gospel, carols, dancing to Christmas music, singing and everything that associate itself with Christmas.”

Dance specialist in the Department of Culture, Marcia Jeffers shared what persons can expect when they go to the concerts.

“Every night promises to be spectacular, we have on the first night the participation of the personnel from the respective shows that would be seen throughout the season. The swimsuit contestants, the miss talented teen, the national pageant the GQ as well as single soloist Tyrique Drew, Ava Dickenson and many more. On Tuesday we have some dance groups such as Angelique, Synergy and also a new dance group that they’d want to see Sugared Expressions from the community of St. Pauls. On Wednesday another spectacular feature will be the Defence Force band lots of people love the orchestra feel of that.”

On the final night persons will be able to enjoy the performance of Her Majesty’s Prison Band.

The “In the Spirit of Christmas” concerts will begin at 7:30 pm nightly. Admission is free.
