Industrial Site Day Care open day

Dressed in career wear of their choice, the students of the Industrial Site Day Care Center were exposed to some of the careers available to them in the future as the Day Care Center held its annual Career day on Friday.

Assistant Supervisor at the Day Care Center Icilma Knight spoke with ZIZ about what motivates the school to host this event each year.

Throughout the morning the children were given the opportunity to see demonstrations from the Fire and Rescue Services, Nurses, Community Policing Officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, and the Emergency Medical Services.

Fire Sub Station Officer Timothy Martin who is a fire prevention officer, spoke about why the fire and rescue services saw it necessary to take part in these types of events.

He outlined what the demonstration by the fire officers entailed.

The morning’s career day showcase was followed by an open day in the afternoon where parents were given the opportunity to visit the school and observe what is done on a daily basis.

The Industrial Site Day Care Center Career Day is an annual event hosted in the month of October.
