International Cooperatives Day being celebrated on Saturday July 6 2019

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 5, 2019 (ZIZ News): St. Kitts and Nevis is officially celebrating International Cooperatives Day on Saturday July 6 2019.

President of the Sandy Point Agricultural Cooperatives (SPACS), Lionel Stevens said as part of activities to mark International Co-operatives Day, a ceremony will be held at the Sandy Point Public Market in Saturday afternoon.

He said the celebrations coincide with the 9th Anniversary celebrations of the Sandy Point Public Market’s restoration since its renovation in July 2010.

Stevens spoke about activities that will take place during the ceremony including song selection and cultural presentations.

He said there is also something special in store for Sorrel lovers who missed the first annual Sorrel festival last week.

The SPACS President said admission to the event is free and then used the opportunity to invite the general public to show the agricultural sector support.

St. Kitts-Nevis is celebrating Co-op Week 2019 from June 23 to July 06 under the international theme “COOPS 4 Decent Work”.
