Hensley Daniel jeep fire in Nevis

ZIZ News…Oct 3, 2012 — The Police has ruled that the investigation into the fire which destroyed the SUV of former Deputy Premier Hensley Daniel closed.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force with the assistance of the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) agency and the Wilmington, North Carolina Fire Department, determined that the causation of the fire appears to be the result of a possible mechanical, or electrical failure in the area of the fuel filter on the passenger side portion of the engine compartment.

A release from the Press and Public Relations Office of the Police Force stated, the fire was not maliciously set and the investigation is closed. The fire is ruled accidental with no malicious intent found.

On Saturday 29th, September, Police and Fire Rescue Service responded to the home of Deputy Premier Hensley Daniels whose vehicle spontaneously combusted 15 minutes after he arrived home. The vehicle was inspected by the police bomb squad from St. Kitts and no evidence of explosives were found. Arson has also been ruled out.
