Irish Town Primary School Receives Brand New Computers

(ZIZ News) — The Irish Town Primary school staff and students are now in a better position to prepare for promotional examinations and access research for assignments after receiving two new computers, donated by Island Auto Supplies.

In accepting the donation, Deputy Principal of the Irish Town Primary School, Dawn Dore said the school recognizes the importance of using advanced technology in a modern society.

“In this era, when everything around us is modern technology and learning is advanced through technology, it is imperative that we have technology in the classrooms”, the Deputy noted.

Owner of Island Auto Supplies Sylvester “Seymour” Williams said he was pleased to give back to his former Primary School and mentioned that it was essential to contribute to the students development from such an early age if they are expected to excel.

“In order to deal with the lots of killings and everything, we have to start from this age. This is the age we need to start from. This is the age we need to nurture them, start to put them in the right direction and start to guide them. Punctuality and those things are very important in terms of building from this age and it is important for us to continue to give them that nourishment and encouragement and whatever they need”, Williams added.

Grade six student, Ashley Wilson thanked Island Auto for their donation.

“On behalf of all the Grade 6 students of this school, I shout my thanks to your generous donation. These computers which we will use in the classroom will go a long way in helping us to continue our learning through technology and to maximize our academic excellence”, Wilson expressed.

The handing over ceremony took place on Wednesday morning at the school.

The computers will be used by the Grade 6 classes as they prepare for examinations.
