Island Constables receive Oaths in accordance with law

On Monday morning 24 island constables were administered with oaths during a swearing in ceremony at government house.

The oaths were administered by governor general of St. Kitts and Nevis, His Excellency the Governor General, Sir S.W Tapley Seaton GCMG, CVO, QC, JP.

Ahead of the distribution process His Excellency congratulated the Island Constables and said that he was certain that training prepared them for the duties at hand.

During his presentation, Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris shared similar sentiments and congratulated the group as well.

Prime Minister Harris said he looks forward to seeing the new Constables in their designated locations.

Following the oaths, the island constables each received their instruments of appointment.

The island constables have graduated from the first training course for the year and received their certificates at a ceremony on Friday at the Police Training school.

Shamara Huggins received best results on the written test while Amita Matthew received the award for most outstanding performance on public speaking presentations.
