Jackiema Flemming Ready for Ms. World Pageant
(ZIZ News) – Ms. World St. Kitts-Nevis, Jackiema Flemming is well on her way to join more than 100 other contestants at the Ms. World Beauty with a Purpose Pageant in Sanya, China.
Speaking exclusively with ZIZ News ahead of her flight on Thursday, Flemming said she is confident in her ability to perform well and make her country proud.
“I am very excited, I am not at all nervous, I’m very excited,” she said, noting that she thinks “the experience is going to be one that is worth it all.”
“I am very happy to be representing St. Kitts and Nevis. I am just hoping that I will be able to make the people of St. Kitts and Nevis proud and to definitely put us out there and even boost our tourism industry,” Flemming added.
She said her intention is to showcase St. Kitts and Nevis’ culture during the talent portion of the competition.
Flemming also intends to gain international sponsorship and recognition as she advocates for the visually impaired, through the presentation of her platform.
“My platform was being an advocate for persons who are blind or visually impaired and through the Ms. World Pageant now, and the Beauty with a Purpose segment, I have been able to spread more awareness about my platform and extending it more to persons who are disabled completely,” she explained.
She added, “It is through this that I have launched my niche, Disability Awareness Programme, and I think that we will be able to get this programme more funding from international persons once my documentary is aired.”
She took the opportunity to thank her chaperone and sponsors and invited fans and friends to follow her journey on Facebook.
“I want to express gratitude to my chaperone, Ms. Treasa Wyatt and sponsors for my Disability Awareness Foundation niche and my personal sponsorship,” she said.
“I am going to be keeping everyone posted. I have my Facebook page that I am going to be uploading every day to let everyone know what competitions are going on and how I’m doing personally and how the other girls are doing. My Ms. World Facebook Page is Ms. World 2015 Jackiema Flemming, so I’m hoping that everyone can go on and like my page and keep abreast of all the activities that are going to be taking place especially because there is a Ms. Multimedia Award and although we have a small population, I think that a lot can be done to help me in this particular segment as well,” Flemming added.
The Ms. World Beauty with a Purpose Pageant 2015 will take place over the next four weeks with the grand finals set for December 19th.
