ZIZ Sports…June 1, 2011 – Javid Stapleton has returned to Nevis after successfully competing in the St.Vincent Nationals.

Javid dominated the 800 meter event for his class to take gold.. The young athlete indicated yesterday that the first lap and a half was especially tough as the second placer in the event pushed him really hard. He stated that he dug deep for the remainder of the race and eventually led him by at least twenty meters as he burst the finishing line.

Javid later teamed up with his two Kittitian counterparts who had also participated in the meet and an acquaintance from St.Lucia who willingly agreed to be part of a formidable 4 X 400 meters team.

The team took gold in the event. ‘That was the only gold that he won so he was really happy” said Javid laughing, as he referred to his friend from St.Lucia.

The young athlete indicated that he is training really hard and that it paid off for him during the meet. He indicated that he already has an offer to compete in a meet scheduled for Antigua but that has not yet been finalized. In the mean time the outstanding athlete is committed to continue his dedicated training stints and said that he will be ready to compete whenever and wherever possible.

For his part, Wakeley Daniel who is the Owner/Manager of the Gladiators track club was understandably ecstatic. He noted that the Gladiators athletes continue to turn out outsanding performances and heartily congratulated Javid for his newest achievement. He also congratulated Javid’s parents Carlylse ‘Binghi’ Pemberton and Joan Pemberton for the encouragement that they would have given to their son throughout the years.
