JLPS celebrate in style

Sports Page — It was a joyous occasion at the Jocelyn Liburd Primary School on Thursday 2nd April as the school celebrated its victory at the Interprimary schools championships, in emphatic style.

One of the motivational speakers was former teacher at the school, Frankie Claxton who congratulated the athletes and the school and gave them tips as to how they can remain winners for a long time.

Also warmly congratulating the athletes was former top cop, Joseph Liburd who also made a generous donation to the school’s welfare.

Headmistress of the school, Miss Barbara Hendrickson, was ecstatic.

She told the students and parents present: ‘I knew we could have done it and when the rain fell early that morning, I knew that it was blessings from God.

Local Soca star and former student of the school, DELI RANKS, then entertained the students with a live performance and certainly gave the athletes a work out on the green.

Coach, Kurvin Wallace noted that it was a proud and special moment for him and singled out certain athletes for special praise. He also took time out to thank the many stakeholders who were instrumental in the success of the school.

For all intents and purposes, JLPS means to stay at the top for a long time.
