Jones, Nurse hit Pride trial centuries

Bridgetown, Barbados — Aaron Jones and Ashley Nurse joined team-mate Shane Parris in slamming centuries on the second day of the second Barbados Pride three-day trial match at Kensington Oval today.

Jones made 107 and Nurse was unbeaten on 111 as Omar Phillips’ XI amassed 479 for five off 98.2 overs at stumps after starting the day on 177 for three in reply to a first innings total of 174 all out off 41 overs by Kevin Stoute’s XI.

Jones, who was on four overnight, batted for 217 minutes, faced 148 balls and struck 15 boundaries, while Nurse has been at the crease for 169 minutes, received 121 balls and hit 14 fours and one six.

Left-hander Jameel Stuart contributed 46 after resuming today on seven. Jamal Smith was not out on 30.

Opener Parris made an even century.
