Kittitian beauty crowned in Tortola

ZIZ Newsroom…May 23, 2011 – Kittitian beauty and former Miss St. Kitts, Sudeaka Francis broke down in tears on Saturday night as she was crowned Miss Caribbean World 2011 in Tortola.

Francis, representing St. Kitts and Nevis emerged from a field of thirteen contestants to take the prestigious title. She also won best talent.

BVI Platinum reports that first runner-up went to Miss Anguilla, Shellya Rogers who also won the Miss Intellect title.

Second runner-up went to Miss Dominica, Jacintha Fagan. Miss Dominica was also judged Best Evening Wear and Miss Photogenic and third runner-up Miss USVI Terussa Thomas.

Miss Jamaica Raecine Williams and Miss Trinidad and Tobago Sherrice Andrews tied for the fourth runner-up spot. Miss Trinidad took the best costume award.

The best swimwear award went to Miss St. Lucia, Iva Satney.

Miss Antigua and Barbuda, Shenique Barry and Miss USVI tied for the Miss Congeniality award.

The Kittitian beauty, Francis, participated in several pre-pageant activities including photo-shoots before the show which attracted a large gathering including nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis living in Tortola.

Sudeaka Francis is the first National Carnival Queen in over ten years since Nicole Gumbs, to win a crown outside of St.Kitts and Nevis.
